Abide With Me (Eventide)

Abide With Me has always been one of my favorite hymns. The image it evokes of Christ speaking with his disciples on the road to Emmaus is one of my favorite Bible stories.

I wrote this arrangement as a special musical number for a Saturday evening session of stake conference a couple of months ago. I hope you enjoy it and can use it in your service to the Lord.

This arrangement is dedicated to Rob Lindquist, a friend of mine who died unexpectedly last year. Rob was a good, kind man who greatly encouraged me as I made progress along my musical journey. I give thanks to God for the privilege of having Christlike friends.

  1. The story of Emmaus has always been one of my very favorite Bible stories as well. Abide with me was my father’s favorite hymn we would often sing together as a duet. When he passed away 2013 I made sure it was sang in his funeral. Abide with me is very dear to me. How sweet It was to sit and listen to this Beautiful arrangement and remember my amazing, sweet father. Thank you!
